Mi-Yun [Mother]- A reserved woman who wanted her family to move out of South Korea due to the fear of North Korea potentially attacking their home.
An-Kor [Father]- A strong man who cares deeply for his family and will do anything to protect his wife and daughter.

Character pros: Energetic, generous, runs fast, sings well in Korean, intelligent in mathematics, and very friendly.
Character flaws: Can not understand most English, timid to others that don’t speak her language, often stays out of situations, picky eater, terrified of monsters, and breaks down when she hears the word ‘bomb’.

History: Ae Sook lived near the border of South Korea that connected to North Korea. Her mother was a specialist in medicine while her father accompanied her mother. At an early age, she mainly focused on her school studies since her parents thought education was very important in life.

She mainly focused on singing and playing different instruments in her life, she never specialized in instruments but she enjoyed singing.

She became more aware of her surroundings when she was growing up, studying about different countries and many more things.

Over all she lived a normal life in her hometown, not being aware of the problems between her country and North Korea.

As time moved on, the country of South Korea had been receiving threats from the bordering country. Ae Sook knew nothing of world affairs and always thought that South Korea was a safe place. With the growing threats the country had received her mother demanded to move out to Canada where the family can be safe from potential raids.

Her parents spoke the important aspects of English while Ae Sook only knew a few words. She didn’t like this place called ‘Canada’, she loved her home back in South Korea. But she followed her parents’ orders to move away.

Likes: Sweets, soft music, the ocean, seafood, math, her family, and many flowers
Dislikes: The English language (She thinks it’s too hard to learn), monsters, writing in a different language, meeting people that seem different to her, trying new foods, and not seeing her parents for a long time.

Extra Information: She has to have a School Aid that knows Korean and English so she can understand what students and teachers are trying to say to Ae Sook.
